The designs shown on this website can be produced
using the woods shown, or they can be customized to
meet your needs through either materials choices or
minor size adjustments. If you like the style of the
work shown, but are in need of a different item, I
am happy to work with you to develop a custom design.
Custom Design Process
The custom design process begins with research on
my part to understand your needs and the environment
in which the piece is to be located. If you are in
the greater Seattle area, I will arrange to meet with
you in your home to gather this information. If you
are outside this area, photos or other media can be
used to help me understand your design requirements.
At this point, I will generate some sketches for your
consideration. Up until this point, there is no obligation
on your part. If you feel there is promise in the sketches,
and you would like to proceed to the next step, then
I will generate and present a formal proposal, including
price, schedule, and suggested materials. If you would
like to proceed, I ask for a 50% deposit to secure
a spot in my schedule, with the remainder due on delivery.
If you want to explore some more design ideas, I ask
for a $250 design deposit that is applicable to the
final price if you proceed.
Once you have placed the order, I proceed with detailed
design. During this phase we collaboratively work out
all the details of the design. I will provide you with
drawings and materials samples for your final design
approval prior to beginning fabrication.
Delivery times can be anywhere from a month to 10+
months depending on my backlog. I work very hard to
deliver on time, and will keep you apprised of progress.
Clients are always welcome to visit my shop during
any phase of the work.
I can arrange to ship pieces through proven crating
and shipping companies to any location required. I
will obtain and provide you the quotes for this service,
and make the arrangements once you approve. I deliver
in person in the Seattle area.
I look forward to working with you!
Craftsmanship
All of the furniture I produce is
made using the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Meticulous care is taken in selecting and matching
the materials for each piece. Joinery techniques employed
by craftsmen for generations are utilized. A great
deal of handwork goes into each piece to ensure perfect
joinery and surface finishes. The finishing process
is equally rigorous. The end result is a piece of furniture
that I guarantee for as long as you own it.
